I’ve noticed that I’m not bothered nearly as much right at dinnertime by telemarketers.  I think they’re getting smart and using call center consultants to re-think how and when they reach the public.  I realize that telemarketing outsourcing is a very important tool for businesses, but it can be bothersome unless the companies are really smart about it.

Well, for some reason, I think companies are getting really discerning, and I simply don’t receive 6 to 8 calls a night anymore.  I’m way more bothered by pop-ups on my computer!  And I think companies are exploring many other avenues to get the word out about their companies, especially since many home and cell phone numbers have that call-blocking feature on.

I actually love when companies use creative advertising, especially since ads through traditional venues are becoming just so much white noise anymore.  I’ll go check out the business if they have a clown on the street corner, or have some sort of grand opening or samples at a local festival.  They’d just better be ready to back themselves up with quality products and services, though. More and more, that just simply isn’t the case anymore, and I’m only disappointed when I visit their place of business.
