Moving to the desert of Arizona from the East Coast has been a unique experience. Everything is different including housing, schools and the weather. The first thing we noticed when we were looking for houses in how different they look then those back East. The brick faced, traditional colonial houses are abandoned in favor of stucco and pueblo influenced homes. In Arizona, every home is surrounded by brick walls over eight feet tall enclosing their backyard which often holds pools and palm trees.

Upon moving to the desert, we began construction on a pool and landscaping our yard.  We installed a wall fountain in the rear yard which attracts the many desert birds in the area. Incorporating the landscape design into the pool, we connected water wall fountains from the pool into the landscaping boxes which held flowers. With lots of palms trees and mesquite trees lining the back wall, we’ve created a pleasant view from our home into our yard.  Our garden wall fountains line the side yards next to the gates to the front of the house. Once our landscaping and pool was complete, we’ve began spending all of our free time swimming in the pool and playing in our yard. We have found our greatest joy living in the desert is enjoying our backyard.
